PCS Special Needs Education

Keep Reaching Out...Together

People have needs. People help to meet those needs. In the book of Acts, we see the early disciples pooling their resources to meet the needs of the community. Some gave money. Others contributed time and their talents.

In PCS, volunteers help to “meet the challenges and needs of the community”. Some volunteer their time to assist in the home help services, helping to deliver meals to homebound elderly and escorting the frail seniors for their medical appointments. Others contribute with their creativity in organizing meaningful and engaging activities so that our seniors have a richer and more fulfilling life. Those who are keen to help shape and nurture the future generations can also start reading programmes in our childcare centres.

Indeed, we discover that “the needs are many, but the labourers are few.” We hope that more Christians and churches, in the spirit of love, will step forward and join hands with us to “Keep Reaching Out Together!”

Now I Can Sleep In Peace

Mr Nagapillai, 90, is a client of Dorcas Home Care. He stays in a one-room rental flat at Meiling Street. Mr Naga, as he is affectionately called, lives alone. Due to his frail physical condition, he was referred to us for meals delivery, housekeeping and escort services. Earlier this year, his house was found to be infected with bedbugs. We immediately arranged for pest control experts to come in and fumigate the house. Some of his furniture were replaced with new ones through the kind donations of donors. Now with the bedbugs removed, Mr Naga is happier and his health has also improved.
